Humminbird SmartCast RF15 3.9-Inch Waterproof Fishfinder Reviews
The Smartcast RF15 utilizes a traditional, single-beam 90-degree sonar to deliver ultra-wide coverage equal to twice the water depth up to 100 feet deep. Vital information is displayed on a big, 3.875-inch display with 160x132 lines of resolution, in a true four-level grayscale that delivers clearly better images of the bottom, fish and structure. The large, easy-to-see digital readout includes a backlight for night fishing, and is powered by eight AA (not included) batteries. This system is designed to be waterproof, and has a 100-foot operating range allowing you to easily travel around without losing your signal.
The Smartcast RF15 comes with a waterproof, programmable Advanced RSS (remote sonar system) for either Channel A or B operation mode, as well as a rugged carrying case with a non-skid bottom and RSS storage. The new illuminated, advanced RSS includes water surface temperature, typically lasts for 500 hours of in-the-water usage, and allows you to purchase replacements that are available on the manufacturer's web site, as well as at your local tackle dealer and major outdoor retailers. The Smartcast RF15 features one-touch menu navigation that allows you to easily control FishID+, depth range, fish alarm, and sensitivity, as well as Wet Switch technology that maximizes battery life by automatically shutting down when the Advanced RSS is out of the water. For those who like to travel light and go fishing anywhere and everywhere, this system is the perfect companion.

Humminbird PiranhaMAX 170 4-Inch Waterproof Fishfinder and Dual-Beam Transducer Reviews
One touch. That's all it takes to get easy-access to all the advanced features of the PiranhaMAX Series fishfinders. Fish ID+, fish alarms, depth alarms, zoom, and more- start putting more fish in your livewell. Clear Edge Grayscale displays ensure you'll see more onscreen, even in direct sunlight. The portable PiranhaMAX 170 features a four-inch grayscale display and dual beam sonar with 1600 Watts PTP power output.
The PiranhaMAX 170 features a four-inch, eight-level grayscale display with 260 x 160 pixel resolution, so you get a good view of the action--even in direct sunlight.
The PiranhaMAX extremely easy to use. For most anglers, all you'll ever need to do is power on and fish. The PiranhaMAX automatically determines depth and makes adjustments to keep the bottom and fish visible on the display.
The PiranhaMAX uses sonar technology to send sound waves from the transducer into the water. The returned "echoes" are plotted on the display, creating a very accurate picture of the underwater world, including distance to underwater objects such as the bottom, fish, and structure.
The PiranhaMAX 170 uses a 200/83 kHz dual beam sonar system with a wide (60 degree) area of coverage. Dual Beam sonar is optimized to show the greatest bottom definition using a narrow (20 degree) beam yet can still indicate fish found in the wide (60 degree) beam when the Fish ID+ feature is turned on. Dual Beam is ideal for a wide range of conditions--from shallow to very deep water, in both fresh and salt water. Note that boat speed, wave action, bottom hardness, water conditions, and transducer installation can all affect depth capability.
Fish ID+ uses advanced sonar processing to interpret sonar returns, and displays a Fish Symbol when very selective requirements are met. When a fish is detected, a fish icon and its depth are displayed above the return that has been classified as being a fish. Three different fish icons represent intensity of the sonar return, and provide an indicator of relative fish size.
When Fish ID+ is on, you can set an alarm to sound when the PiranhaMAX detects fish that correspond to your settings. You can also set a depth alarm from 3 to 99 feet--an audible alarm sounds when the depth is equal to or less than the setting.
